TRAINING CALENDER FOR THE YEAR 2004-2005

FOUNDATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMMES (2004-2005)

    During the year 2004-2005 the second phase of State Appreciation Course of IAS Probationer, 2002 batch was conducted for two weeks, which consisted of a Feed back session and some institutional input. Interaction with Internal Faculty and Guest Speakers was also part of it.

    Further, State Appreciation Course for IAS Probationers, 2003 batch is scheduled for five weeks during the current financial year 2004-2005. This course will cover State laws, Rules, Regulations and General Exposure about the History, Geography, Administrative Structures, Institutions and the Economy of Jharkhand, so that the Probationers coming to Jharkhand from other states get a good grounding and a feel for the people of State.

SPECIFIC STATE CATEGORY TRAINING PROGRAMMES SPONSORED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PERSONNEL AND TRAINING, GOVT. OF INDIA (2004-2005)


     Besides, the Foundational Courses, different training programmes specific to State Category and sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training are to be conducted in various core areas, like Financial Management, Rural Development, Office Management, Forest and Environment, Computer Application, Disaster Management for One Week each. In these programmes, middle level officers are trained, who are working in the concerned field at the district, subdivision or the block level. These courses are helpful for them in the skill development in the field of their work and is of great help in improving their performance. The exposure to latest development and the modern management techniques is of immense benefit for effective implementation of the development programmes going on in the State. The participants for these courses range from DRDA’s, Blocks, Forest Department, Agriculture Department, Police Department, Statistics Department, Welfare Department (including Social Welfare), Health Department, General and Revenue Administration, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries etc.

    In addition to these, one-week programmes, further five 3-days training programmes are scheduled to be conducted at different District level headquarters of the State. These Programmes have also been sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training, Govt. of India, New Delhi.


These courses cover topics related to: -

a)    Maintenance of Service Records
b)    Departmental Enquiry
c)    Pension Rules
d)    Duties & Responsibilities of Drawing and Disbursing Officers
e)    Team Building

     As these programmes are scheduled at District level, field officers can avail the benefit of these advanced courses at their own district headquarters. Hence, they will get an opportunity to undergo skill upgradation without having to go outside their work place. Such short duration programmes are considered to be of immense importance for general improvement of performance and for increasing the impact of development programmes being implemented by them.

FACULTY/ TRAINER DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAMMES (2004-2005)

     In the current financial year, some special training programmes for faculty/ trainer development have also been planned by this institute. Training Division of the Govt. of India have agreed to support these skill upgradation programmes. Three programmes each of one week duration are scheduled to be conducted, viz.,

a)    Direct Trainer Skill
b)    Design of Training
c)    Evaluation of Training

     These programmes will be conducted as per the scheduled given below: -

     In addition, a programme on Training Need Analysis is to be conducted for a duration of two weeks in the beginning of the last month of the present calendar year. Such programmes will provide a wider and better exposure to trainers and faculty of all the important training institutions of the State under different departments. Some of these trainings institutions and organizations include

a)    Police Training Centre, Hazaribagh
b)    Ranchi University, Ranchi
c)    Society for Rural Industrialisation, Ranchi.

     Nodal officers responsible for training in different govt. departments and some non-government organizations getting govt. grant, who are active in imparting training to farmers and artisans of rural area, also participate in these training programmes.
