He is postgraduate both in Botany and Biotechnology and a qualified CSIR/UGC & NET fellow. He has been working in the field of Disaster Management and Development sector for the past ten years. He has worked actively for Community Based Rain Water Harvesting (CBRWH) program for drought proofing through livelihood interventions in Kalahandi, Orissa for UNDP He worked for Disaster Risk Management (DRM) programme of UNDP in Bihar for management of multi-hazard risk through structural and non-structural measures. Before joining as faculty in SKIPA, he was working for Tsunami Response Program (TRP) of Care India in Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and was contributing for CBDP, Microfinance and Livelihood, ICDS etc. The program was basically aimed at building capacity of the Tsunami affected communities to lead normal life as there was huge loss due to Tsunami across the islands mainly in Nicobar district.

He reached out to communities on remote locations like Campbell Bay, Nicobar Islands etc.  He has been regularly designing and implementing training programs for various stakeholders of disaster management during his various assignments. . He possesses good experience of working with disaster affected communities and has been involved with designing of interventions for awareness, training and capacity building, community based disaster preparedness, policy advocacy and networking related work for overall development.
